Boat registration

So I have a fishing boat: Registered in PA. I want to take it down to virginia to fish in the bay, can someone tell me if I need to look into any other registration or permits while boating out-of-state? or if I'm okay with the registration I already have? Thanks

    You are fine with the boat registration.... you will need your Va or Md salt water license and possibly a federal salt water license.  Check the Virginia web site for info on the federal registration part.  I haven't gotten my Va license since that federal registration thing went into effect.
    Also, just as a heads up... if towing through Maryland in particular... they are very strict on their trailer safety laws.

      Might want to check if you need a boating test certificate. You seem to be on the younger side ov age. When my son fishes out ov state Bass tournaments he does 'em online.

    Somethin' like that. Know he takes them for the FLW Bass Tournaments for whatever state he fishes.

    Looks like VA has mandatory safety classes if you are under 45.  This really wasn't hard to google.
     
    As of July 1, 2013, all PWC operators age 14 and older and motorboat operators 40 and younger must complete a boating safety course. This is the next phase-in of the Education Compliance Requirement for all Virginia boaters. Beginning July 1, 2014, all PWC operators age 14 and older and motorboat operators ages 45 and younger need to take a boating safety course.
