    I've never targeted muskies. Always wanted to catch one but the whole "fish of one thousand casts" reputation kind of turns me away lol.

    In a way yes, and in a way no they aren't "Fish of One/Ten Thousand Casts."  If you are fishing in the right place your chances increase 10 fold and if you're fishing the right time of the year.  I caught 5 pure breeds last year most I've ever caught and had a 40"+ come off.  The thing that makes them tough to catch is while other fish are feeding you may see a musky and try everything to catch it but it may not even notice what you're throwing at it because it's tuned out.  Same with large pike.

    The way things are going there will be no open water for spring fishing until mid April!!!!....cannot bear this winter....
