Once again, we are nearing that time that new officers and Board of Directors will be nominated and voted upon.  For obvious reasons, such a process is germane to the future of the association.  While at times such elections can verify and solidify allegiances amongst friends, it should not be construed as a popularity contest.  Therefore, I strongly urge all the members of the Pennsylvania Steelhead Association to ask themselves the following questions of those nominated:

What contributions has this person made to the association during his/her membership?  Have they volunteered for stream clean-ups?  What role have they taken in the Fall and Spring Banquets?  Do not be afraid to ask and have them tell you.  In other words, are they an active member?  Best indicator of future behavior is past behavior.

What visions do they have for future activities for the PSA?  Are they progressive in their thinking or will it be business as usual?   Are they leaders?

Do they actually have the time and dedication to give the Association?  How many meetings do they attend?  Can they give the time to the PSA on weekend events?  Can they be counted on to be there?  Do they even know what the Mission Statement of the PSA is?

The PSA has become quite the powerful entity in the fishing community.  Its future certainly hinges on the efforts and dedication demonstrated by its leaders. You, as a member of the PSA, have a stake in the process.  Make your vote count.

The strength of a person isn't measured by the muscle in their arm or how tall they stand, but rather, by the amount of knowledge and area of versatility they can cover. CM ~ 1987
