not junk at all. It is a little heavy (swing weight) for the power you get for my tastes, and it is a little shorter than what I prefer. But, it does the job just as well as any other. Give it a whirl.

    what weight is it...?

I have a 10'6" medium light i use for salmon runs and love it
I am guessing the 11'6" is noodle/light weight

St.Croix rods starting to wonder about them,,,,,Don't get me wrong but after i just broke my 13 ft i had to sit back and think about it for a couple mins. I don't feel that it should have ever broke the way it did but it did....Can't wait for my custom float stick to be done!!!!!!!!             But Dru you should be happy with your stick either way,,,little short for my taste,,,,,,,,but it's all what you like................................................................Centerpin_drift                                                                                                                                                             Get the drift !

I got a few croix fly rods, they have always held up and performed well, dont know about their float rods though.

The Lord has blessed us all today... It's just that he has been particularly good to me.

I have the exact rod your talking about.  Bought it about 6 years ago.  I absolutely love it, the lite power still protects lighter line and has plenty of backbone down in the lower half of the rod.  I've fished it only w a centerpin but it would probably combine well with a matched spinning reel.  My  only  complaint with the rod is the handle is almost 20 inches long and can sometimes get in the way.  I have many st. croix rods and they are by far my personal favorite.  Good Luck

Figured you would like the rod.  I fish primarily st. croix rods for all fish.  I've had no problems with any rods and their customer service to date has been exceptional!
