Drag on Abu Garcia

Anyone ever have problems with the drag on Abu baitcasting reels? I have 2 older ones that when the drag is tightened down the line just pulls off as if the drag is set very loose. Any ideas? Thanks

    I'd try taking it apart to have a look. Exploded view diagrams of most reels can be found online for reference.

    Not sure what kind you have but I have 3 of the 6500C3 and one Alphamar. I have had zero problems with them. If you feel like you can take it apart then do that and see if anything is broken or maybe it just needs cleaned.
