I have a Clam 460 (2 man) and like it. Goes up and down easy! 2 foldup chairs for inside instead of buckets make it easier on the back.
Black Cat heater and single burner propane stove made me put long days on the ice. Could have been a little wider but would have added to much bulk in my opinion...Gut

I have a Frabil Speed Shak Cub that I like. Then I have a clam 6800 that I got a good deal on. It is so big that I probably will never use it. I would sell it,for a decent price. I would then buy a flip over two man with seats.

What is the price you are looking at for the 6800 ? Also a friend of mine has a 3 person flip over , its a frabill  he bought it last year & after seeing the 5600 & 6800 down at Cabelas, was talking about selling it ,may be there is a swap in the making???? Thanks for any info     Paul

I would swap for a nice 2-3 man flip over. As my 6800 has never been used I would save someone $100 or perhaps a bit more on the store prices, if I was to sell it.

I live in Franklin Pa. If we get some ice I'll be located on top of it in many locations including Erie, and lakes all around my area. However as most others do,weekdays I will have to work. My boy and I sneak out lots of evenings though. I am in no hurry though. Be glad to meet on ice with shanty to show. That is if we ever get good ice.

eye-c-man, It would help if I knew what mod# your Frabill is, then I would know if I was even interested in it.

Parker31, Sorry for kind of taking over this thread, we should move it to items for sale I guess. I didn't expect this to develope.

Parker31, The clam6800 is a nice shanty, however it is big and actually to big for my son and I.We allways grab the smaller Frabill. The 6800 would be great if we didn't jump around like we do or were fishing more than two people.

I would want about $300for the 6800 I bought it two summers ago. I thought we used it once on Eaton however my boy says we didn't. It is heavy and large, look at the stats on it. I figured if we had a gang it would be useful. When going with my boy we just grab the Frabill Cub. We would like a two man flip over then if we have company we would take the Cub also. We also need a flasher.
Parameticjake, I was busy last evening. The 6800 is not something one person wants to lug by themselves. The little Cub I have with gear is a load any distance. Even on Two Mile With Snow it is a pull to get to the pine or beyond. We should build a set of skies for under either of them.
I don't need to sell the 6800 however I would quickly buy a flipover with seats or a Flasher with the money.

I don't know what type of flasher you are looking for but i have a 4-5 year old vexilar fl-8 slt ice fishing pro pack with a soft protective case & mag shield that i probably used 5 times, still in original box that i would be willing to swap for the 6800, probably worth @ $300 also.  Thanks  Paul

I would buy one of the new Fl 12 or 20s. They are so easy to see and have some new features that would be helpful.

Read the reviews on those. They say they're hard to see in sunlight and that the lens scratches easily.

I have a FL-12 and it is sometimes hard to see with the sun at the right angle. I just move around the hole keeping the sun to the back of the unit, seems to work. As far as the lense scratching I haven't had that problem yet.

I'm not knocking the unit by any means. Any vex is great. I have 2. 8 and 18.  Was saying that the flat screen is more prone to being bumped and scratched by other equipment if its not protected. Just make sure you get the carrying case with the newer models.

Thanks guys, Maybe you could help me with something. I am pondering weather to buy an 12 or 20 and I am unsure of the usefulness of the bottom zoom. Also is the bottom zoom on all the time? Perhaps I should read the reviews on the 12& 20s. Maybe that 8 SLT would be adequate for how I fish. Where are these Reviews?
