Don't know where you have been, but Saratoga has been frozen over for some time now.  Also, plenty of action on Lake Lonely & Spier Falls on the Hudson.
In today's Post Star there was a report that even bays in Lake George are fishable with skim ice on the main lake hoping to set by the middle of this week.
Good luck on West Canada and stay warm.  Kids from Dolgeville HS used to catch the trout by hand during the winter when I worked with them out there.
By the way "Any luck with walleyes on the Mohawk lately??".
