AQUA-VU Color Camera

I just got a new AQUA-VU  SPC-80 color camera on ebay for $259... I see that the same model is on sale at most online fishing suppliers for $599.  I couldn't resist the deal...  the thing has 12 infrared lights and a color screen thats supposed to defy glare. 80 ft cable, rechargable battery, blah blah. There are still a few of these in auctions now.
Has anyone ever used one of these Aqua-Vu fish-cams before? I know theyre much better in clear waters, and the pros and cons.  I just am afraid this deal is too good to be true and hoping somebody will reassure  me that the thing's not a piece of crap.
I still may not catch em but at least I'll see em.

If you want to use it ice fishing it will be great. If you want to use it on the boat it kinda sucks unless the waves arent that bad. You wont beleive how many missed hits you have ice fishing until you see it on the camera. Your catch rate will at least double

I love mine.. it definately increases the enjoyment watching the fish look at your bait... never realized what was all down there and what doesn't bite!

I bought an Aquaview scout this summer.  It is the one with the infra-red lighting on it.  Works awesome in clearer water.  Murky water makes use almost impossible.  I only got to use mine on open water, but im sure it will work much better for hard water fishing.  Im glad I bought it, now I have a good reason to start ice-fishing.

COLOR CAMERA ! WOW ! I have a Bl & Wh that is a real education to use, exactly as Justin mentioned. It is simply amazing how many fish are down there. With a camera you will see them not interested, and you can change tactics. I have only used mine on the ice. Enjoy !

Thanks a bunch guys... I think it'll be a lot of fun. I'll give a review after I use it a couple times.  Hopefully it can also be used in my canoe in calm waters in the summer.  Good luck on the ice this year.

I have the scout also your going to love it! But you end up watching the screen more then fishing. I used it allot last winter searching for perch covering lots of fishless water. The only thing I don't like is when you come off the bottom you can't see anything but a gray screen, you have to keep it near something to make it out.Or if you hit the bottom and puff up mud you can't see anything.Invest in the tripod for ice fishing.
