How Dumb Am I ??
I have not seen a deer around here for several weeks, the two times I sat in the blind nothing appeared...
We closed the hardware at 1pm today so I thought I would just sit in the blind with a spotlight and see if the deer were moving by well after dark ??
I got in the blind at 4:00pm ----- well how dumb am I ???
I did not take the crossbow with me and at 4:30pm I had three browsing in front of the blind at 30 yards.....
My butt is really sore from KICKING IT !!!!!! ;D ;D ::)

Actually, pretty smart. Would love to hear the explanation of spotlighting from a blind after dark with a crossbow in hand. Just fyi, cabelas had game cams on sale last week? Might save you the trouble of spotlighting your spot?

I sat in the blind in the pasture that I kicked 10 out of the day before. No deer came thru. The horse farmer called me the next morning and asked me how I made out. I asked the farmer do me a favor and look in that pasture for trax in the snow, Yep, trax everywhere. They came thru in the nite.

Came in from a day of driving with little action Friday to find a nice 7 point feeding under the apple tree in my back yard just before dark. They seem to know my place is a no shooting zone.

not too sure bout taking a spotlight out on stand , with intentions of spotting deer especially with a crossbow or gun or compound bow WOW

My bad just misunderstood . Had a couple ocasions where I choose to take shotgun for turks and had big bucks walk within 10-15 yards of where I was. should have had bow in hand. I get it now DUH

Its 'Murphys law'. Had the scattergun out for Turks one year instead of the bow for Deer and a Buck I had been after for a coupla yeas walked bout 15 feet past my ground blind. Even stopped and browsed right in front of me.
Had been using the bow for both prior to that and the Turks were just hanging a bit too far out. Saw none that day.
Makes a great memory though.

It really burns you up when things go wrong. You put a lot of time into it and you expect something in return. But, I love it even more when something goes right,from something that was suppose to go wrong.

No different than when my muzzel blaster just did the cap thing on a monster- its the memory that counts not the meat. Whenever ya can just see the humor in it its GREAT. All the fun and no draggin.

I notice that you reference WMU 2F in your profile and assume that you were spotlighting there.
If you were in WMU 2B, 5C or 5D spotlighting would be illegal during the late firearms deer season that run until Jan 28th.
Be aware, the MAN is always watching you in those Poacher-Heaven zones....
