Heck I even went to ICKS and wallyworld last night looking for a tree umbrella with NO luck!! Looks like I'll have to wear the rain gear with the gortex Gilligan hat, Just stapled some Blaze cloth on it OHH Man It is not a sight for sore eye's LOL GOOD LUCK AND BE SAFE AND KEEP DRY

Tree umbrellas are the greatest... got one about 10 years ago and have used it several times... easy to carry and it takes just a few minutes to set-up and you can stay dry all day !!! Mine is already to go as it is still raining here since 4pm yesterday... lucky the rain is not heavy just a constant little more than a drizzle ... But I'll be off to the hemlock grove around 6am, I feel the deer will be headed in there early this morning and will probably bed down in there if they are pushed at all.... the fields were loaded last night while spotting..

Big, did the same thing several years back. went looking for a tree umbrella the sunday before opening day. not one to be found in erie co. learned my lesson and bought 2 later on. took it with me but really didn't need to set it up in Union City today as rain held off. shot a big doe and my 13 year old grandson took his first deer today, a big bodied 6 pt. swear to god i was more excited than he was. he got chilled and wanted to leave early, so i had my wife pick him up. too bad for him as he could have easily filled his doe tag along with the buck. taught him how to shoot, now trying to teach him to sit.

Weather man/woman WRONG again......... I packed 2 sets of clothes and 2 sets of rain gear. Hunted 2C not one drop of rain all day. By 10 am I thought this has been the worst year for deer sightings in 20 years. I had seen "0" Out of the 8 hunters....we tagged 2 (not me) 12 pt. at 10:30am .......then a 9 pt. at 3pm I saw 13 for the day.

Hunted 1A and out of 3 of us we saw 1 tail. Got soaked and then saw 4 sitting in the front yard of a neighboring camp after hours. Will be out everyday if it's needed to get some meat in the freezer. I want my deer now tho so I can get back after the ducks!! The dog goes crazy every time I go out without him.
The worst day hunting or fishing will always be better then the best day at school or work!

The hard rain lasted till a little after daybreak, then off and on sprinkles most of the day. THE GILLIGAN hat worked great!!!! LOL. seen 2 little bucks and only a couple doe DIDN"T shoot. That rain had them bedded down hard where I was hunting. Today doesn't look any better as far as the rain goes. I'm sure there will be some drives going on today. as for I really did not hear much shooting yesterday.BTW congrats PIKE and Wags GOODLUCKSHOOTSTRIGHT AND MOST OF ALL BE SAFE

47th first day in Pa. minus buck bow kills or Ohio hunts.Day started good "I woke up" thats always a good thing. My son wanted to sit with me that doesn't happen to often any more but I was really happy to hunt the day with him.He set up the 2 tree umbrellas and I slowly made my way up the hill to the stand.Daylight came late and deer started popping up saw 8 does and a nice little white racked 6Pt 14 inch spread by 9:40 then nothing all day left the stand after 5 Pm. It was a long day. Someone gut shot a doe that ran and bedded down 50 yards from us,it kept the confused 6 pt around for 30 min. he walked up to the doe and just stayed around her.The slob hunter never came to look or track his doe,she now is yote food. I wonder how many deer across the state end up this way.Raining and windy I'm not hunting today.

Rained like crazy until 11am or so north of Warren where I was at. I got soaked on my way to my stand in the AM (time for some new raingear). Headed back to the house to change at noon since I was shivering pretty bad. Ended up seeing 25 deer, with two being dink bucks (unicorn and 1/2 rack forkhorn). Out of the rest, 16 or so were doe/fawns and the others, ufos... Miserable day, weatherwise, for me.

The rain yesterday morning was just nasty and windy. See doe most of the day and took one at the end. NO bucks, between the hard rain and a little pressure form the day before they are bedded down hard. But on a good note they have to feed sooner or later and I'll be there LOL

With all the excellent raingear on the market today there is no reason for anyone not to be able to stay dry. You may sweat a bit if you move a lot but the rain won't get to you.
