gallows harbor

any body know a good way to get into gallows harbor? heard it is real deep there, maybe that is where the bigger fish go to winter. besides the dam at shawville. tried to get in through egypt, but, everthing was posted or led to someones house. looks steep as well. is there a way in from the croft side?

Theres a really rough road in from Shiloh. I've seen trucks there but a 4 wheeler is a lot easier.  Look at a topo map to see which local roads to take to get there.  Or you could canoe down from Shawville or somewhere else above.

At the sharp right hand curve above where it says "T619" there is a dirt road going straight.  It takes you there.

thanks for the info, also looked it up on terraserver, to get a better idea.didn't realize it was so close to deer creek bridge, we walk up the river and fish for smallies in the summer. has anybody ever fished there in the dead of winter, like now? we're willing to give it a try, been skunked at the backwaters, the last 2 weeks. not even a perch.
