Couple pics from the river

Hit up the river a couple days and could only manage 1 small eye and a Brownie.

Saw an amazing Caddis hatch on Friday evening, looked like a snowstorm.

Had a 38-39 inch Musky swim up my eddy in the current, went by me at about 3 feet. What a beautiful fish to see in that clear water. I think he gave me "the stinkeye".

Saw a bunch of eels, looked like they were making a nest.

Just for you DOC..

Bings, Are you sure those are eels, I think they are lamprey's. They are (native to our freshwater streams) lamprey's I think. Are you still tick free this year also? I have had ~ 5 on me this year so far, they must love me. I'm in the woods a lot though.

Lampreys I would guess, we used to have them in the small stream beside my house. As a kid we tried to kill them, didn't know any better. Haven't seen them there in 20 years now.
It was kinda ironic I was standing in the river the next day BSing with Mohawksyd and told him about them. He said he had never seen one. It wasn't but a minute or 2 and one came swimming by us. Bet those big Brownies would take a Lamprey for lunch.

Still Tick free and have been working down in the ANF, thought I might see some there.
I probably just taste like crap to them, hopefully.

Some of those lampreys, like in the Great Lakes feed on the trout. Down here in Butler, during the winter, all the trout eat them. Its something else. I'll have to post pics in the winter.
