Tionesta Creek up stream

coming up north this weekend how is the Tonesta at Blue Jay bridge area? Looking at the water gage its high, fast and maybe unfishable. I did the 3.5 hour trip last weekend just to turn around and come back home.

i would imagine it's the same way being all the rain we have gotten.
sunday afternoon all the creeks up this way and the ANF were muddy high and we've had rain ever since.

Make the trip.. if the water is too high for your liking at Blue Jay, drive another 10 miles to sheffield and fish the West Branch of the Tionesta.. very fishable there. (That is unless we get a big storm between now and then, as of yesterday good to go)

South and East branch of Tionesta are also very good fishing, but I cant speak of them as to their fishability, I am going to guess very similar to the West branch, but I havent traveled that way to give you a definite answer.

The Tionesta Creek area near Mayburg was under major FLOOD warning about 2 days ago. I'm thinking it will still be roaring pretty good this weekend.

With no rain since yesterday in the area and hit n miss til Saturday clear up the northern streams should be fishable. Theyre going to have approximately 60 hours to clear up

I was through there on Wednesday...
Fishin' must have been good, there were 7 vehicles parked at the new bridge near the Blue Jay Tavern!
Seen several people hip deep just upstream from the bridge.

On the internet, EVERYONE is entitled to their opinion!

How does the creek looks, based on comments and water gage after lunch it looks like it dropping. How about color?

Is the water gage at the bridge still operating? When I check the site I used last year I get no recent report. Seems like the last reading was in Jan.
