Pymatuning Status

Anyone know what the current water temperature and lake level is at Pymatuning?  Heading up to camp next week and wondering if the crappies have started the spawning movement yet.  Thanks in advance!

Check out the Pymatuning Lake Report thread.  There are 6 pages of stuff.  I'm not up there to confirm but I heard the water levels were coming down.

Fished it today....various surface temps from 62.5 to 65 were recorded as the day progressed. The water level is still up a few feet, but nothing to worry about. We launched at Bay 41 and had to walk through a little water to get onto the dock.

Crappies aren't in the shorelines yet, but there were hundreds of boats today fishing the stumps and catching plenty of slabs.

Fished sat from 7 to 7, caught around 40 walleye between my buddy and myself with only 7 keepers. Good to see the numbers but couldn't locate any big females. Caught a some nice perch and crappie too, kept a few of the bigger ones. Water down a little, temp 65.

caught crappies and a 38 inch muskie in a bay on south end from shore the crappies were about 50-50 spawned out so yes they are spawning. kept enogh for a couple meals and releaded quite a few also and for all you muskie fanatics it was released unharmed after a short fight on the noodle rod.

I fished Pymatuning on thursday, May 19th.  I fished the North end and mostly trolled. Due to the high water you can troll in places normally too shallow.  The water temp was in the low 60s.  I found walleyes, largemouth and crappies in 9 ft. of  water and concentrated trolling in that depth.  There are many walleyes shorter than 15 inches.

It was cold and raining daily last week, the first nice day was thursday.  I would not be surprised to see the water temp rise and the fish go deeper.

If you are using a boat boots are necessary as the water level is over the ramp in most cases.

I fished the south end with about a 100 amishmen. Haven't seen that kinda pressure on Pymy in 15 years. Will have to wear my staw hat next time.

Caught over 20 eyes with only 3 good keepers.

DFA Outdoors was at it today. 12 eyes were released, most being short. But these crappies and perch were not so lucky..

Had a great couple of days on the Lake.  Fished Friday evening and most of the day Saturday.  Lots of pressure of sure.  Looked the D-Day armada! Loads of short walleyes and crappies.  Only 3 legal eyes but one was a hefty 25incher!  Crappies were all very nice as well.  Enjoyed catching the walleye even if they are small.

Thanks bings. Sunday was a great day out with my dad as we dont fish together much. Caught alot of fish. Most were short eyes with the exception of 2 keepers. Lots of crappies and a few perch. Not that many boats as sat i guess. Thankfully we missed the floatilla. Was a good day and will probably be back at it again this weekend. by the way the walleye pic was 25 inches no weight on it, but one of my biggest out of a lake and my biggest out of pymiee.
