Not to be smart, but any boat is big enough in the right weather. That said, that one looks capable of most good fishing days on the lake, ie: 2 foot or less, maybe 1-3's, if you're going to concentrate on Erie I would consider something larger with at least some kind of cuddy. 3 footers will look pretty big in that rig I'm guessing. It can turn pretty quickly out there and I'm afraid that you'd end up not getting out a lot. I have spent more than one day sitting in the parking lot (with my 23' walk around) for a few hours and then driving the 2 hours back home. Nice looking boat though...

BullDog1 is correct. I could never figure out why I had a cuddy cabin until the waves started to break over the bow.....It goes over the side instead of into the bilge. Good weather makes any rig work. The problem is the weather changes faster than the weather service can notify you Rolling around drifting in 3 footers is not the issue. The issue is holy heck, I better get back. Then the danger begins. The most dangerous trip is the waves following you, they break over the stern. It is a good looking rig you are considering. If the price is good and you take some time to learn the proper boat handeling skills, you should be fine. Best of luck.

I have a 19.5 ft Lund Tyee, with a deep transom, and there are many times I wish I had a bigger boat, not just for convenience, but safety as well. With that being said, if you stay conservative, and not take risks, you should be OK. Make sure the bilge works extremely well.
If you plan on fishing Erie most of the time, get a bigger boat. If you plan on fishing other lakes alot, then you need to weight your options.

Green, you will able to use that boat on the nicer days, as stated above. You WILL get wet even in 2ft. waves, if you put the hammer down. one reason I never liked center consoles. They do give you alot of fish'n room. Plenty of people use 17 & 18 ft. boats to fish eastern shore for Bass,take them out to the Perch pack and trolling the lake. You have to watch the weather and don't go too far. With a boat this size you also have the option to take to smaller lakes and rivers. Enjoy!

Unless it is one heck of a deal, I'd pass on it because you'd be getting 2'itis much quicker than most and would probably be skipping the 2 and going straight to 4'itis.
It is a capable boat in up to 2'-4' I'd say but I wouldn't want to be out fishing in waves that sporty, just navigating my way home.

just sold my 20' center consol last year
for reasons stated by others,
not a good boat for erie waters,one time
in 3 and 4 footers and you will wish you had that cuddy
altho it was a great boat for other lakes,still wish
i had the 04 90 hp honda that was on it it was great

As said before, on a day where waves are 2 ft or less you will be golden. My 18 foot Lund handles 1-3 footers very well. NOW, that being said... walleyes have been caught out of that boat in 6 footers.. not fun. It doesnt matter what size the boat is you always have to pay attention and be safe.. everyone has their limits on Erie, and I would definately say keep that limit at 1-3 footers unless you are experienced on the Great Lakes.
Save a horse, ride a Lund Friends don't let Friends fish for Trout (Stockies that is..)

My older brother ran an Imperial 23' cuddy on Lake Erie for years. According to him, one year he spent 60 days on the water. It had a really good ride.

Called to look at it today and it was sold. Drug my feet and got boned ! Seemed like it was in tip top condition by talking to the owner. Im so bummed that I missed out on this deal !
