first buck with a bow....

well i finally bagged a buck with a bow/ first buck period. ( past couple years i have missed buck with bow or i would hit them in the shoulder bone and never find them)

he doesnt have a monster rack like some ive seen on here but he has a big body. This buck did everything you would never think a wounded deer would do,This buck ran up hill, cross creeks, had me on my stumic crawling throu thorn bushs, he ran throu log piles and finaly colapsed 2.5 miles from my truck. and  1.5 miles away from were i stuck him. He did this all while he was gushing blood. I didnt get that great of a shot on him, i hit him in the liver.thats why he ran  so far and bled so much

Hes no giant to some of you guys buts hes a giant to me...

    Congrats!!!

Sounds exactly like what a wounded buck will do.  He doesn't know he's walking dead, but he knows he doesn't want to be out in the open, 'cause dang, that hole in the ribcage hurts!

I almost had mine today, but he walked up on the wrong side of a blowdown at about 25 yards.  Sraped, rubbed, then looked at me and slowly walked away.

Don't get caught up with comparing.  You filled your tag, and you did it in a way you've never succeeded at before.  Well done.  Next year, though, we'll work on shot placement.

I would of gave it an hour or 2 if i knew i had a liver shot on it, give it some time to bed down and perhaps bleed to death. Congrats.

Congrats  Maga . Next time if you feel you have made a arid shoot do to yardage, angle, brush, saplings give the deer a few hours. I know i have done the same thing and ended up trailing some long distances. Found most but lost a couple of the twenty some years of bow hunting. NOT tring to be wise arse Just some adivce.  Congrats again  any deer with a bow is a trophy.  SHOOT STRAIGHT AND BE SAFE     DAVE
