FishErie Freezeout 2011

When: Saturday, February 26th, 2011

Where: Stink Hole area off Presque Isle. This area holds a lot of different species of fish and has varying water depths. Access is just east of the weedline past the Vista Boat Launch. Parking is along the road or in the 2nd or 3rd lots. (I will check ice conditions a day or two before the event. If the ice is bad we will move to Misery Bay.)

Time: Fishing starts at 8:00 a.m. and ends at Noon. Awards will be handed out at 12:30. Please sign-in at my hut anytime after 7 a.m. The sign-in hut (Blue Clam Jr.) will be marked with a large Berkley Gulp! Alive! banner and FishUSA.com banner. (Please bring a watch as the Noon deadline for fish will in effect.)

Awards:

1. Biggest Fish Award - (Over 16) Measured by Length, Any Legal Species
2. Junior Biggest Fish Award - (Under 16) Measured by Length, Any Legal Species
3. Biggest Perch Award - Measured by Length
4. Smallest Fish - Legal Species like smelt, shad, bluegill, etc...
5. Wipeout Award - Best fall, leg through the ice, broken arm, etc...
6. Long Haul Award - Farthest distance traveled to get to the Freezeout (Determined by zip code)
7. Gear Pig Award - Most fishing gear brought on the ice
8. Oldest Angler Award
9. Youngest Angler Award
10. Ironman Award - No hut, sitting on a bucket, maybe in a t-shirt, Steelers body paint optional
11. First Angler To Limit Out On Perch (Most legal perch if nobody limits)

When you catch a big fish, it must be brought to the sign-in hut for measurement.

Sign-up: Cost is free. Please send me a pm with the names (first and last), screen names, ages and home zipcodes of all attending. We would like to know how many kids (under 16) will be in attendance. Sign-up ends Friday, February 18th at 4:00 p.m.

Prizes: Over $1,000.00 in prizes donated by FishUSA.com and various tackle manufacturers.

Food: Food will be optional. If you would like to bring food that is fine but do not feel obligated. I ask that everyone who wishes to bring food to coordinate it amongst yourselves. Last year Pork's chili was killer.

No, but about 4 or 5 years ago I sat on a bucket all morning and won the prize. It was 0 degrees all day. We are just looking for the person who looks the coldest!

is there a prize for biggest shad? most shad? any shad prizes at all? with em all in there, it might be a good bet
