    bing,
I was thinking the same thing. I was out all day yesterday and called in a small 1 in the morning and saw 4 doe in the afternoon.
I'm going to blame these high winds for suppressing day time movement but at this time of the yr. if there's not a hot doe in your area your screwed cause all the bucks are where the hot does are.
Got the last 3 days off so hopefully I can score.

The ruts been in full swing for over a week so if your  not seeing More and Better bucks than before AR/HR you may want to give the PGC a call and ask why.

I've been hunting two different areas 1) adjacent to a swamp with nearby corn fields and heavy woods and have seen nothing in an area that is usually productive. The 2) place is farmland where earlier this year watched several 8+ point bucks and about 15 doe. The only thing I've seen there was a couple of doe at dark feeding in a field near me and one of the bucks at about 65 yards. Have not seen any indication that the bucks are pushing the does around. Same goes for two other hunters on an adjacent farm. Will give the farm another look in the morning and evening tomorrow. Maybe I'll get lucky.

Noticed here in southern Butler Co. that there is still a lot of standing corn.  Gave up bowhunting 3 years ago, but I know that I never would see numbers of deer - and especially bucks - until the corn around where I hunted was cut.  Most farms around here seem in the past to have had the corn cut by the last or next to last week of October.  Don't know if that's the case where you hunt Bings, but it might be one possible reason.

The rut is poop this year. No signs anywhere, 1 small rub line, very small, & 3 small scrapes in a small circle which i hunted tonight and looks like they haven't been touched since Sunday, the day i think they we're made because when i saw them scouting they we're still damp with urine, thats all the signs i've seen so far where i hunt, seen deer on my way in, in about every field i came to, a small 4 point and lots of doe's, but none were in the woods tonight, last year the bucks we're chasing a few days before Halloween but not this year, its a different story.

I agree nothing too crazy....yet. I think I just have way too much anticipation and expect too much too early.  The rut is still in its early phases, and the chase should be at a max this week.  Im going to remain hopeful and keep on thinking this last week will be the best.  Best of luck to all who have not connected yet.

This last week will be over before you realize it with the rain, cold temps and the nasty wild wind. Watch next week you'll see buck chas'in doe everywhere.

Was hunting my honey hole yesterday.  Counted thirteen buck rubs from my treestand and that's just the outskirts of the rublines.  All I saw were two coyotes, one of which I somehow missed.  I hope it was due to the wind because there should be a ton of deer there.
P.S.  Chalk up another stolen trail camera.  Only a cheap one, but I can't wait to see the first person hunting that spot.  It's not a place that get's a lot of hunters, to say the least.

Well "experts" say the weather can have a small effect on the rut.  So perhaps since we had a much warmer and drier fall than usual, maybe the rut got pushed back back several days.  Bottom line, im trying to be optimistic because I only have 2 days left to hunt, friday and saturday.  I keep telling myself they will be the best two days of the year.....lol.

Havent seen a buck chasing does yet.  Buddy saw 7 different bucks on tuesday morning and 4 were chasing the same doe.  I had an 8pt about 18 inch or so at 12 yrds saturday morning and of coarse he finds the only 2 trees to the left of the stand to stop behind. Oh well.  Have only seen a handful of rubs in about the last two weeks and only one looks like it was made by a large buck.  All day in the tree tomorrow and sat.  Good luck to all.

Every day that I have been out the last 2 weeks I have seen or heard bucks chasing does.  Saw a 6, 7 and 8 point yesterday AM and they were all hot on a does trail.  Yesterday evening I heard grunting in thickets non-stop (between the light wind gusts) all night.  I had to get out of the stand a little early and on my way back to the truck, I saw a buck (too dark at this time to make out what it was) hot on a doe's trail.  This morning, I saw a buck dogging a doe in the grey light and he was just a little too far to see more than a flash of antler, had a small 4 pt feeding underneath me, saw a high racked 2.5 yr old 8 point on a mission (panting like a dog) who would only stop at my bleats and grunts and come no closer than 60 yds, and around 10:30am saw a 6 pt. chasing a doe through a golden rod field.

Wouldn't you know it, I was trying to practice and whack a big fox squirrel that was annoying me all morning and when I shot at him, my bottom cam whacked my treestand (squirrel was slightly behind me) and my cable is now out of the cam track.  Luckily it didn't blow up on me.  Hopefully I can get a cheap bow press and try to fix it tonight or make a call to the local archery shop and see if they can help me tonight.

No doe or much chasing going on tonight. Had 3 buck in a button, a 3 point, and a nice 8 point at 30 yrds. He either busted me when  I moved to change shooting lanes or didn't like the way the button freaked as he was standing under me when I had to move. At least I got to see a shooter. Maybe tomorrow...

First time today I finally saw a buck pushing a few doe around. He was a good shooter but too far away. Filled a doe tag wednesday for some burger. A farmer told me today that a young man hunting squirrel on his property early this week was backed down by a large buck that the boy almost shot when the buck got so close he could have touched it with his gun.
