Glendale 8/14-8/15

As I mentioned in an earlier thread, my girlfriend and I went to Prince Galitzin to camp this weekend. I fished on friday evening by shore and Saturday by boat and it was not the most productive two days. I caught one bass on a panther martin. it was a real monster....at least 3 or 4 inches! That little bugger bit on a lure that was almost as big as he was.

It's a real nice lake and campground though.

Yeah, my expectations were pretty low, and I did not expect to catch much. If I would have saw people catching fish I would have been a little bummed out, but at least I wasn't the only one getting shut out.

Accountant, if you get up that way again, I have a pontoon I would be happy to take you out on. This is my first year with a boat out there and I would be happy to take someone out with me. I fished memorial day weekend and caught alot of bass (nothing big) and tons of big panfish.

I want to hit the lake hard in september and october to try for some pike or musky, so if any of you are game..let me know. (especially if you know what you are doing haha)

walleye catching at glendale is a super secret for those that have routine success. Good luck getting anyone to admit their hot spots.

I always wondered if trolling would work there. I have never seen anyone do it, but why wouldn't it work?

    Hillbilly,

I appreciate the offer, but it will probably be a long while till I make a trip back to glendale. My girlfriend and I are thinking about starting an ambitious trek to as many state parks as possible...also, I probably would be no help, as I really, really don't know what I'm doing

Fish it all the time. I wade from the shore with a flyrod. Fishing was tough this year, but is getting better. I usually get a bass or two over 4 lbs. but not this year yet. Fishing will improve this fall. Lots of nice pike on a fly to be caught.

I always fish for pike up there in the early spring right after ice off and do really well. I never tried fishing for them with a fly mainly cause i suck at fly fishing lol. I do have my own tackle company, and one of the things i produce are Pike flys. I think they look really nice, i just wish i knew how to fly fish better. I think they would be great for bass as well. I make them out of Zonk strips. they looks really awesome in the water.
