2 crappie were caught from glendale in march that were both 20". They were 3.44lbs and 3.3 something like that. They were a little shy of the state record. TWO fish like that within a week of each other from the same lake. Impressive....,

I saw a picture of one of those fish. They said it was 20" and 3.49 lb. Didn't hear about the other 20 incher. Awesome fish!!! Why doesn't one of them bite on my line. Don't hold my mouth right I reckon. lol

The only thing better than 1 day of fishing is 2 days of fishing.

fished glendale last week, dead sea, what happened to all the crappies??????....amish took them all out, very possible..fished that lake for 12 years and always caught some crappies, mostly small ones, now hard to catch a small one..another lake down the tubes, ask the guy at bait shop corner what record crappie is in pa, he said 24 incher taken in river...told him couldn't believe that at all...he argued thats true, thanks for google, record pa crappie is under 20 inches but weight is over 4 lbs, showed him picture, still did not want to believe me, world record is 21 inches caught in kentucky, weighed almost 5 lbs...showed him that two, this guy said spawn is on,...spawn is over in my book..

Lots of big bass in Glendale. Lots of big bluegills too. Need to go a little deeper for the big gills or catch them on their beds during the spawn.

ORIGINAL: CentreCountyMan Where do u fish at for the gills and what do u use Early in the year I get them on their spawning beds with a 1" mister twister on a 1/32 oz jighead tipped with a maggot or two. After they get off the beds, I hit deep structure (15 to 22') with double drop rigs tipped with a half a crawler and a leech. You will pick up an occassional bass or walleye too but big gills love leeches. Drift some of the deeper shorelines just where the weeds start to tail off and keep your baits near the bottom or just on top of the weeds. The sunken bridge used to have some nice gills on it but I haven't fished it in a couple years.
