The time spent and memories created with your kids is priceless!
Hello all fellow fishermen and women,
Well it is May 1st spring is upon us and the passing of the 2009-2010 ice season has come and gone. 7 to 9 months for the start of the next hard water season!
Hard water fishing is unique kind of fishing, us in the north is blessed with ability to just do that type of fishing, as well as stream, boat, pier, and shore fish as well because of our seasons. But the time spent with our kids and wives if they fish, is awsome! Yes it is nice to catch the lunker, or limit out on the fish you are after, the time spent with your kids is priceless.
My two kids Ty 9, and Ash 7, had gone with me ice fishing this year for the first time, and they loved it! They had so much fun catching perch thru the ice , running around on the ice, having dad pull them back while the sat on the fish trap nanook, cooking hot dogs on our one burner coleman stove. They loved it and I loved and enjoyed the memories that was created for them and myself is priceless treasures. They were looking at photos from this ice season today and they told me, " We had so much fun dad, we can't wait to go again this year." That made me feel so good to know my children had that much fun bonding with dad that they can't wait til next season to go again.
Don't get me wrong we do other things like camping, fishing from a boat, on a tank of gas trips, so we are creating memories all the time. But because of the uniqueness of hard water fishing just makes it a little more special, and the smiles of enjoyment it brings.
