A tutorial on realistic mono legs

I know you guys were interested in how I did my hellgramite legs. I never saw this tutorial untill today (obviously by my tie) but I figured Id pass this on. Its somthing I plan to try and the mono isnt as hard as you would think. My fly never incorporated the thread, but... the next ones will.

    I will warn you guys, although these fish great, in a stream with heavy moss/weed growth its not the best choice because with how stiff the material is, you will be pulling grass/weeds off frequently.

    That is very unique. Wife bought me a cheap tying kit from w-m . Haven,t tried anything yet. I would be afraid of losing such a pretty thing.

    Someday youll look back at that statement and laugh...a few years ago, I would have said the same thing. That nymph, if you did it in steps... couple pairs of legs, tie a couple flies, epoxy last, you could crank out prob 5-6 in an hour.

    5-6 hr? With these old hands? I,d be glad to get one made. Need to learn basics first. Thanks for chearing me up though. It would be a great thing to do that.
