PI Bay Area

Any new reports for the bay?  I am heading up from Columbus, Ohio for a day tomorrow and just trying to get a little help.
Thanks in advance.

I fished in between the 2nd on 3rd lots on Friday. The ice was good, 12" in most places. Got into a few hog perch. Saturday was another story. The wind was incredible so we headed to misery. Not as windy but still really windy. I saw a guy loose his hut to the wind. Bring your cleats as most areas are bare ice with little to no snow. That could change mid week as snow is in the forecast.

    any decent updates?
so far it hasn't been as good as it was a week and a half ago.
my buddy was off the 2nd parking lot Friday and between 3 of them,
only had 2 keepers in 4 hours and they moved around 3 times.

I don't know why it has been slow the past few ice seasons. Last 2 have been not been good at all. I wonder if not as many are coming into the bay from the lake or what. We have been doing good all summer long for the last few years. I remember we would always get into the jumbos here & there ice fishing but now it seems few and far bewteen the past 2 seasons & they are running smaller. Just from my observances & $0.02 worth..

A few of us have been going now to Chautauqua starting last year. Avg fish there is between 8-9" and just polluted with them. A DEC guy told me that the bigger fish are preyed upon by the walleye & musky than the smaller perch. Reason being having 1 big meal is easier than exhausting energy chasing several smaller ones over a period of time.
