Don't know how the ice faired this week but as of last Sunday their was 1" crust, 3" or 4" of slush and 2" of white milky ice and 2" or 3" of good ice.
As for bait just about anything will work, wax worm and grubs,minnows for trout, bluegill, crappie, perch,even the power baits work.
If using minnows make sure they are virus free!
Look to the heavens and thank God everyday that hunting is such a grand part of our lives.
