The other Cased Caddis
As an alternative case material to steely34's "Cased Caddis"............
One day when I was pretty young my dad had me fishing lower Black Moshannon, we kept a few fish to cook creekside for lunch. As I gutted the trout, I took a look inside the stomach to see what the trout were feeding on and found a fair amount of miniature pebble cases and at the time I was clueless to what they were. As the years went by and I learned about all the aquatic insects I alwayed remembered that day on Black Moshannon and seeing all those cases in the bellys of those trout. I racked my brain for a few years actually on how to mimic this case in a fly pattern............until one day my wife called me on the way home from work to have me pick up a can of coarse ground pepper.....then it hit me......anyway here it is.....
