Moreau 1-5-2010

Hit Moreau for the first time today, had little luck. One hammer handle pickerel and 3 stripped hooks. Guy next to us picked up one bass. Has a snow covered 5 to 6 inches of black ice. Some spots were a little slushy under the snow. 
     Tight Lines...Cheers

    Like I told you the trouble with Moreau is the pickerel-bass and weeds until you set up right over one of the springs that feed the lake.  Nice jumbo perch in there and some decent rainbows.

    Ed,
        We set up on one of the spots you suggested. We got there a little late and set up near old holes in that area. I did walk around a bit and drilled some holes and dropped down the fish finder, marked very few fish. Just wasn't the day I guess. How did you make out in Sacandaga?

    Will:

    Beautiful day on Sacandaga, as we fished the basin off Lakeview Road.  Not one flag or hit jigging for over four hours.  Finally decided it was like Death Valley and left to get some lunch.  Could not believe how low the water was on Sacandaga, as we had to fish much further out than usual to find deeper water.
