Hedin' to Misery Tomorrow!

Thanks for the posts on Misery Bay ice, Going Tuesday ( Tomorrow ) to get some fishing in. I haven't been ice fishing in 10 years, can't wait to get back on the ice!!!!
Hope there is not a lot of snow on the ice. Hearing from other fisherman that they are catching gils, crappie and some perch. Just can't wait to get out, hopefully the cold weather will stick around for awhile so we have ice for long time like the old days.

Fished today, 1 crappie, 2 bass and about 40 or so gills. 5-6 inches of ice on misery. About 10 huts off the 3rd lot.

The Lord has blessed us all today... It's just that he has been particularly good to me.

I kept a bunch of lunker gills we caught on sunday from misery; scaled, gutted and cleaned em yesterday and fried a few up last night.. better tasting than walleye imo

Went this morning, started at 2nd parking lot where there was about 10 huts hoping to get some perch, tons of smelt, alot of 4" perch, no big ones,at least they will be big someday. Fished there for couple of hours then headed to Misery around noon, caught 2 large mouth bass, 3 nice crappie, gils. Good hard ice right around 5-7" depending where you are at. off the 2nd parking lot was 4" of average thickness.
best fishing if you want to have fun go to Misery and take the kids, they will have fun. Green, White with pink and Blue jigs worked the best. Going to head back on Sunday, got to get back to work. About 3-4 inches of snow on M., Not too bad.
The weather man and mother nature is helping us out, Canadian artic air still coming down this week, nights are still to stay in the teens and days staying in the 20's, hope for a good long ice season!!!! See you guys on the ice!!!! Hookem' and cook them!!!!

the only thing that could ruin this year is a very stiff wind like last year. if it keeps up, there will be 2 feet of ice on misery in march

Yeah, I think it was a northern or a steelhead that snapped 16506fish line.

Well that would make sense too with all the bass that were hitting, and you having light line, very well may have snapped it when bass was fighting.
