Thursday and Sunday

I'm free Thursday and Sunday and will be looking to hit the ice.  I have no set agenda at all so if anyone was looking to head out either of those days, and would like some company, give me a shout.  I'm in 'Toga, but am willing to travel.  North or south, makes no difference to me.

Missed you by a day Z. I'll be heading out on Friday morning, 1st light. Anyone is free to join me. Just send a pm. Local lake. I'll be targeting pike, but pannies are in there too.

When hell freezes over, I'll fish there too.

    Kay-Z and Yank,
Hitting Lonely on Thursday. Heading out there around 9 or 10 and will fish until after dark. You guys are welcome to join us and anybody else for that matter. Probably build fire, toss back a couple and chase some flags.

    Will:

Thursday sounds good to me, so I may join you on Lake Lonely.  4-wheelers are really tearing up the trail, which will end up costing us our access to Lake Lonely if they don't stop.

    Ed,
Sounds good seeing never did cross paths last year. Look forward to seeing that lucky coat of yours with that team that just may kick my Vikes out of a first round bye. ECO was out last week; would be nice if he would show up when the quads are there and shut them down before we do lose the only public way to the lake.

The QUAD idiots don't even fish and we'll get the heat? Proabably the same d-bags that stole the guy's propane tank last year and had the residents POed.  I will try to get there after work, I should get there by 630-7am if I have bait still.

    Yank:

Forget about stopping for bait as I will have plenty.  Look forward to seeing you again this year and I promise you will not get shut out like when you went to PP Pond last year.  I have two extra sticks of dynamite for us to use on the 4-wheelers.  Take your time as Will and I will not be there until around 9am.

P.S. I did not realize the Packers still wanted to play the Vikings again and go 0-3 for 2009-10

Weather Advisories:  POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS ICE ON LAKES AND PONDS INTO THE HOLIDAY WEEKEND.
WeatherNet 6 spotter reports indicate that yesterday's strong winds have caused some ice to break up on Saratoga Lake with two open areas of water. This has likely occurred on other area lakes as well. As the wind drops open areas of water will skim over with thin ice, but will not freeze deeply due to moderating conditions developing on Thursday and Friday. Snow by Friday will also hide areas of thin ice. USE EXTREME CAUTION THROUGH THE HOLIDAY WEEKEND IF YOU HAVE RECREATIONAL PLANS ON THE ICE.
    .
Ice Thickness Guidelines from the NWS.
    For People: 4" or more.
For Snowmobiles or ATV's: 5" or more.
For Cars and Light Trucks: 8"-12" minimum.
    For Medium Trucks: 12"-15" minimum

Just posting for those heading to these lakes. Stay on top my friends.

Cannot thank you enough for fixing me up after my fall on the ice at Lake Lonely.
My first aid kit was in the car, but you came to the rescue with anti-biotic ointment and a good sized gauze pad to cover the damage.  Good sized cut on back of my hand, but survival looks eminent thanks to you.
Hope you guys did better after I left with the fishing.  But I did get my first pike and a small bluegill to get off the sneid for 2009 ice fishing before the end of the year.

    Barry:

Your PM is filled, so here is what is up.  I am fine and will be there around 9:30am with plenty of bait left over.  I will probably only fish two tip-ups (like I did today) and jig where we had some luck with perch and panfish.  I know you like the far point for pike, but I will be closer to where we fished today (about 50 yards out from the end of the trail.  Have to leave by 1pm.

    Ed,
Glad I could help. Did pretty good after you left. 3 crappy and 1 more perch near 7lbs pike and lost another smaller pike at the hole. Pics below; took the pic of the pannies before we caught the last 2. See you tomorrow.

Well no word back from Yank- I would've met him earlier if I knew he was going, but as of right now I will shoot for 9:30 w/ Ed and Wisdom.  See you there.
