sabiki rigs

I was wondering if anyone has ever tried sabiki rigs for perch fishing? I was thinking that if you load each hook with bait it would work pretty well and be easy to feel the bite.

I doubt its legal, but I bet it would be effective. Slow troll a sabiki... Not a bad idea...

I used to catch 30 shad in 10 minutes using a sabiki rig, when I striper fished... Outside of castnetting, there is no better method.

people use multiple hook fly set ups. might have to cut a few of the hooks off but I think you can have more than one

I think you would be legal as long as you cut off the 6th hook.

I've tried em briefly ice fishing and didn't have any luck.

I cut a 6 hook sabiki in half to use from my boat perch fishing in PA where there is a 3 hook per line limit.

Sabiki hooks often have Japanese sizes that are opposite of US

An angler may operate no more than two lines with or without a rod, and each line is limited to not more than five lures or baits or a combination of both, and in addition, each line shall not exceed fifteen hook points in any combination of single, double or treble hooks.

Let me know if you guys try it this winter. It may be a good way to see what depth the fish are hanging at.

Very interesting. I never thought of such a setup for jigging. Gonna give it a try.
