im not a mushroom eater but i really enjoy hunting them for my dad. there a big bunch of them im going to get today that i found yesterday. the internet says fry them with old bay seasoning. they call them oyster mushrooms cause they kinda taste like sea food. found alot in woods that have been timbered on the old stumps. cant wait for the morels. found over 400 last year. found some spots this year while hunting that should be loaded with them.

oyster mushrooms are actually pretty tasteful, although i googled them and it said they had a mild taste.  Good either way, good deep fried, or in a stir fry w ramps(I like to include the greens)....   MmmmmMMMMMmmmmm ramp season is only 4.5 months away!

i found 2 ramp spots last year that you can prob. fill up dump trucks. 1 spot is well known to locals with the bulbs be the white ones and smaller. the other spot doesnt look like anybody has ever picked them. the bulbs are much bigger like onions and are the red ones. i road my mountain bike to get them after i found where they where at and it is just under 2 mile on my odometer down the railroad tracks to get to them. that prob. keep most people away.

I couldn't see you going all that far for oyster mushrooms. Morels, on the other hand, I guess I could see that.
