Out at the SR

So I am spending this weekend out at the SR with a buddy trying to see what this centerpinnig thing is all about. Let me tell you guys its pretty neat, and somewhat tricky in the beginning. But once I spent a good half hour just feeling it out and learning how to cast it and maintain a drift I was feeling pretty good. That was until my float dunked and suddenly there was a steelhead on the end of my line. I hung strong for most of the battle, but we didnt bring the net down with us so I was forced to beach it. Well needless to say I fought it for a while was bringing it over to shore, it got a look at my buddy then just embarrased me and completely took advantage of my inexperiance. So all in all I had 5 hookups with no fish landed But I did have a blast and am really looking forward to doing it all over again tomorrow, hopefully with a better report for you guys.

Duane, especially if they nail it in the fast water! Those steelies go ballestic when they see the other end and torpedo back out ..i remember losing them just below the 81 bridge like that..Wow.. wish i were there ..i got all new line and terminal tackle.. you bought a spey outfit or just trying one out?..! Ilikepike, been awhile bro! like where you been? anyway you are 100% ,,i rather enjoy cold fingers than sitting inside on a puter. I was going to make a dash upstate somewhere along the deli but, got caught up with some jobs.. which is a good thing! I'm going to try for eye somewhere in the upper stretches of the deli from shore if it stays above freezing this month. Also want to get out in the ocean for some tog..blackfish are fine eats! cheers!

stay out of the stock market /big brother is on the take

Well the weekend came to a close today. What a mess today was guys. The weather turned on us with some heavy snow and wind. It was nearly impossible to fish. We still managed to hook up a few time but no luck landing a fish so no pics for me Oh well there is always next time, which will hopefully be soon.

Duane glad you had some hookups.  I never get any fishn porn out of there I know how that is. Yeah the weather can kill you this time of year. Last year I had to break trails 2feet deep to get to the River in Altmar.  Plus no hookups!  Craziest weather I ever wet a line in.
