Couple more bass out of the 'hawk w/RF

Jeff and I headed out for a little bit of fishing yesterday. We lost a few fish early on because were too busy yappin' and havin' a good time. Only a few fish were picture worthy, but another great day out on the water nonetheless.

PS. Hey Lance, I think the largies are making a comeback.

This one had some black markings on it.

My only decent one.

And another one by Jeff.

When hell freezes over, I'll fish there too.

Cool colors on that first bass...

I caught a smallmouth last summer that looked like a Gibson Sunburst.

black blotched bass are REALLY common in Saratoga lake. It has something to do with how bass' skin repairs its slime coat.

Are you sure it isn't a Peacock/Largemouth hybrid? haha.

Good Job Rf! I have wondered about those spots, the first I saw them was about the mid 70s and in Louisiana as well.
Seemed to find them in lakes and rivers with a lot of vegetation. but it also looks like a desease that you get in fish in aquariums called black spot, usually caused by stress.

A lure drawing the first strike of an early morning, the strong tug on the end of your line, the excitement of a leaping fish... that,s livin large!
