Today's lesson , never give up !

I had orig planned a 1/2 day trip but plans fell through, which is kind of good because i had very limited time today due to tractor issues yesterday put me way behind on projects at home. So i figured a few quick hours is better than not going at all.

Action was really good right off the bat and the 1st hour i had 3 bass and 3 pickerle in the boat (i didn't really want the pickerele) but they were insane and i could not keep them off the hook.  They destroyed a number of my toads !

Here are few avg guys ...

Stuck with the froggin since action was good, even tried this secret weapon that Mr Jigs told me about at JJ ...
I had 2 nice blow ups on it but missed them. This franken-lure has some great action and 100% weedless in the slop. Plus it cast a mile !! Thanks Jigs !!!

Action really got slow after that 1st hour , i really thought i was going to find a pig on the frog.

As i made my way back to the launch i had one spot let to try , but rather that the frog i picked up the jig rod. Good choice !

Instantly i picked up 2 shorts and thought, cool good way to finish. Knowing i was already later than planned i was happy but really wanted a pig. So the story goes ... just a couple more cast ... you know where i am going with this right !!!

BINGO !!!!

This pig really wanted the jig ... i stuggled with the self timer, but look at the girth ...

5lb 1oz , but only 19" long !! What an oinker !!!

That really but the icing on the cake for me !!!

Now i really need to get back to work LOL

BB

Never give up Brian - just like at JJ2 - ohh wait were talking about fishing and not about giving up on the Heineken's - but just like JJ2 ya bounced right back - WTG  !

That franken-lure looks great bet it could cast a mile into the wind - the only drawback I see is that the hook is set so far back - about 90% of the time the bass strike towards the head don't know if ya noticed but most of the fish I caught on top water have the first set of trebles in there mouth and the rear set is usually stuck in there gill plate - I know the Zara Spook has caught a many, many bass in its time - but I prefer a shorter popper style  with a single set of trebles (call them Gulp size) or a little longer lure with two sets of trebles a "Chugbug" - and the one reason I like the lizzard is because of it's slim body I can get away with a smaller hook a 1/0 which puts the hook just behind (neck area) of the lizzard ... and another thing which I never use (not ever) is the dropshot with a white fluke just nose hooked - I guess I'm saying just like a sniper - shoot for the head !

Tight lines and screaming drags my friend !

Anyone else reading this - I have no idea what I'm talkin about - so please disregard what ya read ...
