Steeljunkie, If you got your images stored on Photobucket it's pretty easy. Just hover your mouse over your image and go down to where it says Direct Link. Copy that link. Go to your posting and click on the yellow mountain. You will have to erase the http:. Paste your image in the hyperlink box and there you have it. Click OK Hope this helps.

Nice ties there buddy. Your well on your way. I can't quite tell but it looks like they are tied on a pupa hook. You may want to tie these on a larger gap hook it your using them for steel. If you can get them I've found that the Daiichi X-Point - style X510 in size 10 works well. Very sharp hook with a chisel point. Try cutting them a little tighter to the hook. I've always found the smaller the better but that's just my opinion. Everyone has their own preference though. Great start - send some more pics of your creations!

Let me know how the crystal meth looks. Im only 15 and used to tie when I was younger but got away from it for a while and now im starting to tie for steel. I tied everything in the box except for 3 of the nymphs. I need to get the stuff for some white and olive wooly buggers then ill be happy. By the way the eggs are tyed on a short shanked tiempco 105 special use hooks. Criticism wanted!!!

they look nice!!! i personally fish smaller is better point of view with alot of success..but i know guys who fish eggs that size with good success to.. so its a horse a piece.. i dont tie eggs on anything bigger and a 16. because steelhead eggs are 4mm-6mm in size.. so that hook makes the perfect cmobo for a egg of that size. also try using mcfly foam.. youll cut your tieing time in half.. i promis you that.. and they make a fuller rounder egg. try it is like 2.50 a pack.

    keep tying... looking good

SJ - Once again - great ties! I wish I had the materials they had today when I started out some 35 years ago (Has it been that long? Kind of showing my age). Personally I've had more success with the blood dot than with the Glo Bug but to each his own preference. A great site to get patterns and see different types of flies go to  flytyingforum.com.  They also have some steps on how to tie some of the patterns. It's a great site. Again keep it up - real nice job!

as per request on your sucker spawn.. looks fine to me.. but if you want a fuller looking spawn.. try using 2 strands of diamond braid. instead of just 1.. tie it the same but i always use 2 gives a fuller look which i love.

Your 'bugs, meth flies are ok now, definately will catch fish.  High green water an egg fly tied about 2/3 the size of a dime is a good choice. Chartreuse with an orange dot is a very good choice for high water.

For medium to low water conditions, think small, eggs tied about the size of a pea. Pale colors - egg, oregon cheese, peach just to mention a couple.

Best egg hook I've used is the Diachii 1650 size 8 for high water, size 10 for most other conditions.  This hook can be hard to find, Mad River Outfitters carries it in 25 packs, price comparible to the TMC 105.

When tying glo bugs it's important to keep most of the material above the hook shank, you don't want a lot of material below the shank, choking up the hook gape.  Eggs do not need to be perfectly round.

Thanks alot guys I might try headin up this weekend or will it be a waste of time? And also I think I might try some size 16 hooks with small eggs for ultra clear water but when i tie my 'bugs this small you can see the ring around the center where the thread was wrapped how do I avoid this? Thanks again!

steel junkie.. i went out tonight to fish cause i couldnt take it any more.. if you go out with ZERO expectations and just wanna cast with a chance of hooking up then by all means come out and play.. but i went out tonight and the water is luke warm..fish are activve in early morning and at night.. hooked into 2 steelies both broke off.. (using 5x 4lb) and i landed 1 brown.. slowest fishing of my life.. but no complaints i just went down to try out new flies and new gear

    Steel Junkie,

The glo bugs look great. I would suggest you use half of the material that you have been. The eggs will appear more translucent and natural.

Also, use the yellow material for the dot on the orange egg. And the orange material for the dot on the yellow egg. This is only my personal preference to keep them more "realistic."
