Another quicky on the 'hawk

I was hoping Reel Force could join me this morning, but he was mia. Wanted to try out this drop shot thing. So I went it alone, and couldn't get any takers on the drop shot. But I did hook a few with a crank. All fish were caught in about 5 fow on the edge of the pads. Was a beautiful morning with no wind or humidity.

1st off was this bruiser

This guy had some attitude along with some sweet aerial displays

Eater size, but threw her back

Then the 'hawk finally let me in to a few largemouth. I think these are the 1st two I've caught here.

Rounded off by one more smallie

Probably lost 2 or 3 more nice bronzebacks, but it's enough for me sometimes just to watch them leap up and throw that lure out.

When hell freezes over, I'll fish there too.

Sweet fish man!  Looks like your Smallies are getting a little larger each time!

HLS- trolling a big Mepps along those weedlines near where the Lisha Kill pours in can be a TON of fun...

I did it all the time last summer, and the summer prior...  It looks like you are probably near the old Niskayuna Train Station?  Or closer to The Twins?  The radio tower in the background of that perch photo sure looks like the WTRY tower near the Nisky/Latham town lines?

I am like friggin MATLOCK, right?

Blitz, some of those weedlines go on for a mile or more...  TONS of fish in there, but there is a heck of a lot of weeds to cover to find the fish!  I typically stay about ten feet off the line and troll some type of bladed lure to keep the weeds to a minimum...  If I could find a way to get a RattleTrap through that stuff without hanging up it would be a BLOODBATH in there!  They just seem to collect weeds most times though...

Good call there, caught some very large pike right there with that and with black jigs.

Just upstream from there, along the same weedline is a deep cut right on the edge of the weeds...sometimes a fish or two can be found there too...but it looks like HLS covered the whole weedline this morning. A weedline I am VERY familiar with
