First Day

So what stream is everyone hitting up tomorrow for the opener. Or are you most of you staying away from the crowds? Im thinking of hitting the Tulpehocken above the lake. Anyone else thinking of fishing this area?

There is some nice water above the lake, if you know where to find it.

I think I'm just going to bring a six pack to the stream and watch the antics unfold....

    Hey Tippy,

I am not to familiar with that area. Any info would be great. You can email it to michaelfederer@aol.com. I mean I could just wait till about 10 till 8 and then just look for all the cars and run down to the stream...I might be going to the East Perkiomen out near Perkasie with some guys i met in college but not to sure about driving an hour and 15 to get into a elbowing match. I wonder how UNCROWDED the DHALO will be tomorrow....

Egger, I can't be much help only fished up there twice, and used the PA Gazetere (sp) to find my way around. I did find some nice water close to the roads, not too far upstream fro the lake( 1 mile or so).
Good luck, you always have the DHALO water to fall back on.

Sorry I couldn't be more help

Egger, did you go to the Tully above the lake?

I did not make it above the lake. I decided to stay in bed. I did try the Special Regs from about 11-1. To no avail. It was a little fast and murky. Saw a ton of guys on the whole stretch. Never seen that many people. Did not see a fish caught the whole time. There was a hatch of some sort coming off though. I am fairly new to the flyfishing game but they were small around size 20-24 range. Black and clear wing. Trico maybe? little black stone fly. I have no idea. I seen them last year too and when the water slows down they will be gorging themselves on them.
