Went back to the same spot me and Reel Force went to. Monday morning, got some more nice smallies, and a few more walleye but none to brag about. Will be out again this weekend. More open seats if anyone is interested. Lob me a pm.

When hell freezes over, I'll fish there too.

The last few weekends have been very slow for me, i pretty much just target bass. I always find a few just nothing big as of late.
HLS & RF did pretty well over the weekend it seems.

I am actually going to pass this weekend up all together get some other stuff done and hope to find a really good bite on Saturday the 29th

Typical August for my style of fishing ... last year i golf a few times over fishing this time of the year.

I usually do very little in July & August... Tie flies and get work done on the house..
Now in a few weeks until next July... BUSY !!! FISHIN' at least every week and sometimes daily.... You'll see my reports pick up then.

I found some normal Largies and a few big Pickerel in Northwest Bay on Lake George on Monday afternoon.  With the heat, we were bounching 'jig 'n pigs' off the bottom in around 30ft or so at the outlet of Northwest Bay Brook.

We paddled the brook out to the lake.  Pickerel were everywhere in the brook along the weed edges, and the bass all came from the Bay itself.  We were looking for Smallies all afternoon (between swimming breaks) but couldn't find a single one.  Pretty rare for Lake George, really.

Been slow and scattered on the crappie. finding them only on the deepest cover and even them taking a slow jig grudgingly. This sat I am going for a night trip will hang a lantern off of a floating dock at sunset then fish it during the night works well in the south havent tried it here yet. but will see how it does this sat. Like brian I will hit the golf course Sunday for 18 holes. If I cant put one in the boat maybe I can put one in the hole.

A lure drawing the first strike of an early morning, the strong tug on the end of your line, the excitement of a leaping fish... that,s livin large!

I've been lazy... just pulling inedible Crappie and Gills and Rockies out of the Erie canal, since it's only 5 minutes away. Got a ton of housework this week, so i only get out briefly.  Going to fish for cats and carp next time there for the hell of it.

Fishing has been slow the last couple weeks, i'm still chasing carp. With the hot weather the big ones are out deeper somewhere, but there are still quite a few in the 10-15 lb. range hanging around.
Last night in the middle of all the lightning I caught my first mirror carp, I was pretty excited to finally find one. 9.9 lbs.

hey yank, there are TONS of catfish in the spot I met up with you, I got one last week just under 10 lbs.
I caught that one on Corn.

PIKE I'll be there around 615-630 tonight (WED) , come and set up a pole (or anybody else) .  I saw a guy hammering em with pizza dough last night so I picked up a pound. I wouldn't mind a little cat wrasslin.

Going golfing in the AM won't be staying there too late tonight though.

i'll try and make it tonight, not sure if i can, but i'll definately be down in my spot tomorrow (assuming the storms stay away)

a mirror carp (as far as I know) is basically the same as a "common" carp, except it has random patches of scales. some of the mirrors have no scales at all and are called "leather" carp.
I've seen pics of mirrors with crazy looking scale patterns and they are all different.
The one I caught barely had any scales on it at all.

Didn't miss much... got one small cat about 5 minutes after getting there.  Was there from about 6:30 til dark. Crappie bite was good for a while. no real slabs though.  Tough time keeping the dough on the hook for cats/carp. Egg sac netting woulda been sweet.
