Leader & Tippet material

Going up In Oct. for the first time for kings and browns. taking my Scott A2 7 wt. cause i'm not really into buying a new rod for my first trip. What is suggested leader and tippet material for kings? Would it also work for browns or should i downsize it a bit to maybe 2-3x? Also gonna start tying some flies in 4-6 size range any suggestions on good patterns? Being this is my first trip not setting my expectations to high, hoping it will be more of a learning/scouting experience for future trips. i'll be happy to land one god willing. Thanks!!!

I use a seven weight up there too. I use a furled leader with about 3-4 feet of 3x or 4x and do not have any major issues. As far as flies, I throw anything lol. Most of my browns are on eggs and nymphs. For the kings, my luck is pretty much with big bright streamers.
