Just what the doctor ordered

Its been a pretty busy last few days with my mother having unplanned heart valve replacement surgery Tuesday (made it through fine, she's already walking around!). I've been doing a lot of golfing in the last few weeks, and haven't been fishing as much as a result. I was starting to go stir-crazy, and golfing just wasn't filling that void completely for me (even though I shot my best round ever[94]Saturday)

I went out on the backyard river this morning for a little before-work sunrise trip, first trip since 7/19. Last night's rain had the walleyes biting well, I got 4 eyes total, 3 keepers, and bunch of other panfish, bass, and one crappie!

When hell freezes over, I'll fish there too.

Just a question... isn't there a DO NOT EAT warning on fish from the Mohawk?  I would fish there more if I thought I could eat the catch.

I spent a lot of my youth jumping off the Rexford Bridge into that sucker...

I dunno', I have to admit there were a few times I got pretty laid out for a day or two with (ah hmmm) "intestinal distress".  It sure sounds like the Mighty Mohawk has come a long ways in the 15 years I was gone- but still:

Some of the locals these days eat pannies everyday out of there like its a trout stream or something.

And heck, if it's good enough for them, it's good enough for us!  Those guys always seem so happy!

There is some limited eating advisories upstream, but down in our neck of the woods there are no eating advisories that I know of. Besides, compared to alot of the Mercury riddled adirondack lakes (sacandage res.), the mohawk REALLY is not that bad. Then again, I can't really get anyone else to eat the Mohawk fish...
