I'm up for that, I usually let everything go cept the pannies in which I eat and a descent wiskers here and there. Although don't think they have Blue cat up here or Appaloosa  (Flat heads) but the cats from the deeper lakes have been pretty good. this is record blue (top) and a good Flat head.*NOTE I did not catch these or do I know the ones that did. just thought i'd show u some cats from my old stomping grounds. cause I will be bringing a few pounds of fillet's from some louisiana catfish thanks to kenny who will be back from Monroe the week before Jimmy Jam and He promised to bring me some good ones.

I work saturdays, but sundays are free. so i'll be up early sunday morning. If saturday isn't a back-breaking 12 hour day i'll head up after work, but I never know at my job.
And by the way..... if I catch a 30 lb carp..... i will have NO problem being thrown in the lake

Jigs

Those catfish are awesome, I wish we had those up here. Channel cats are decent size up here, unfortunately anything over 20 lbs is extremely rare (at least for me ) which is why I switched over to carp this year. I like to have a BATTLE when I fish, and they are the only option around the immediate area for catching something  up to 40 or 50 lbs. Not that i've found them 40's or 50's.... yet......

This little event sounds like a blast. Is it invite only, or can anybody from the forums partake? I know I haven't been around on the forums too long but it sounds like a really good time.

Duane...  We insist, man...  You gotta' be there!

Check the thead often for updates and more details will be forthcoming in the weeks ahead.  Its a pretty laid-back affair, and we knew it would be an 'annual' after about the first two hours of fun last summer.  Lots of 'little boats', lots of laughs, and typically a heck of a lotta' good food and cold refreshments.

It's summertime fun at its best- and a great chance to see a few of the faces you only read about all season long.  It's a bonafide 'Motley Crew' of folks, but I've never met a more skilled or humorous bunch of anglers anywhere.  No worries, no problems, just plain fun...

So where does this take place at? What is the launch situation like? Can I get my 16ft Starcraft out there or will it be a 10ft Pelican with trolling motor kind of day?

Hey Duane,

The party takes place at my house on Snyders Lake in Rensselaer County.  The lake is only about 7mi from downtown Albany and really easy to get to from I-90/Route 4 near North Greenbush.

The whole lake is only 110 acres (max depth 40ft), so small boats suit the task just fine.  I do have a rudimentary boat ramp in my yard for trailered boats but parking for trailers, etc. is extremely limited.  Most guys brought small Pelicans, Crawdads and Jon Boats for last years gathering to alleviate the need for trailer parking, etc.  I have a small driveway and small parking lot, so positioning vehicles requires some creativity and felxibility.

We could get your Starcraft in there without trouble (I've got a 14'6" Starcraft and HLS brough his 16 footer last year) if needed but we'lll have to disconnect the empty trailer and put it in the yard to save parking and camping space near the house.

Once the date gets a little close we should have a good grasp on how many trucks will be present and I can get a better picture of where we'll put everyone.  It will work (it always does), it just requires a little thinking.

And thinking is just too darn hard here at work on a Monday.

Yeah at this pace everybody is bringing a boat, we will all be fishing solo LOL ... we had more than enough last year. We are only 4 weeks now ... should we form an initial list of definates ?

If you need help organizing buddy just say so. I know there will be no shortage of food, that's for sure.

When do you think we can make a list of what is needed? so we can see what we should bring, maybe whos bringin a boat, who needs seat in someones boat, that kinda thing. If im premature on this, sorry just wantted to start thinkin about what I will bring to help. I,ll bring 14ft john boat and trolling motor in back of my truck no/trailer. about 12 lbs of fish fillets, have fish cooker if needed. I'm goin to tie thr front of my boat to the back of brians, he he so I can get in on those big bass he gets, lol
