launching out of elk creek

Has anybody been out of elk creek lately?  How is the mouth of the creek?  Thinking about launching out of there Friday.  Thanks for any info.

I launched there last weekend and had no issues. Actually I had an easier time than normal. I usually find the sandy bottom at least once by the mouth, but not last weekend. Might be because the stream was up a little, or the recent storms washed the bottom out a little further, im not sure. I have a 17 ft deep v. Hopefully I will be there Friday afternoon launching again.

I was out in my buddy's 17' and we watched  big 21' deep V go out, outdrive was lifted out of the water, but he got out. The shallowest point that we saw was about 4'.

Yup, just go slow and watch the depthfinder. I saw people keeping their big motor all the way up and using their electric or kicker motor to get out rather than risking their main skeg or prop. Just a thought.

We fished for both last week. We hammered the perch and got skunked on the Walleye. Any yes I do tilt my motor up to make sure I dont hit the bottom like others have suggested. Good luck.
