Pflueger President 9/10wt ?

Any opinions on using a Pflueger President 9/10wt reel for saltwater flats in Florida? Looks like a lightweight 6.6 oz. very reasonably priced $135 and a very large arbor 4.25" diameter reel. The large arbor would be a definite benefit in the flats.

Any experience with reliability and drag quality? I know that it is partly forged / partly machined, but if it delivers fish at this price point, I'm in!

I never used this reel but I am a fan of pflueger products(most of them). I would say it will perform like you want it to. One thing about pflueger you never hear to many complaints about their reels.

Thanks for the opinion, rollcaster. I haven't heard anything bad about Pflueger either. I think I'll go this route.

It depends on what species you are fishing for on the flats.
