Hey, don't worry about putting up a picture of another of Kahle Lake's "small fish".  Everyone knows there are only small fish in the lake.  There are no large perch, or very many bass and certainly no Musky to speak of and, who would waste cold a night looking for crappie?   If someone wants to catch big fish or alot of them they should go to Author or Shennango!  The ice is always better and safer at those lakes too.

Arthur is on Route 422 from I 79 toward Butler about 3 miles.
Shenango is on Route 18 above Sharon/Hermitage and before Greenville.
Shenango is an unlimited horsepower area where they have some speeders although there is an upper portion that is 10 hp limit.
Lake Arthur is a 20 hp limit but you sometimes wouldn't know it.  Lake arthur is known for Stripers and large Muskies. Also Large bass and walleyes.

Shenango has all but not sure they have stripers. Large Catfish in all.

Lake Arthur is a good choice for ice fishing. Find a little structure and BOOM YOU IN! I caught a 3.2lb. Crappie there through the ice last winter almost crappied my pants when I seen it and it didn't want to fit through the hole. I was real happy it was a tight fit when it spit my Swedish Pimple after getting it through the hole and not easily sliding back into the water. I guess if you get out 1st. safe ice Northern fishing is usually great at the Muddy Creek finger of the lake.

I heard that the farmers almanac is calling for a cold snowy winter this year. I guess we could do without the snow but still hopefully theyre right. Take it for what its worth. Ive never paid much attention to how accurate they usually are

Anybody else have an electric auger? I have the Strikemaster 4000. I get over 12 holes thru 8" ice. Less, if thicker, more if thinner. I take an extra battery with me when it gets thicker. I can also hook it to a marine or car battery to get a lot more holes but i've never carried one out with me. Way too much stuff in my sled already. I may try it this year tho. Maybe put it on a separate sled and let the grandkid drag it out.

How's that auger work? We use the 4-wheeler to go out on the lakes you are allowed. Could plug rite into the electric outlet on the bike..

It has a connector plug that has battery clips on the one end. You'll love this auger. Clean cuts. No gas fumes and QUIET. I was using mine at Presue Isle on lake erie last feb and 20 guys came over to check it out. I know there will be a lot more of them there this winter using them. I have the 8" auger but i just ordered the 6" for panfishing. Should get more holes per battery.

Something you might try is one of those small car jumper battery packs. I use one to run a 12Volt aerator for my bait. Not as heavy as a battery with a convenient handle.
