Electric downriggers?

Any suggestions? Have never run electrics but with as much work as I have coming up around Rochester the new boat is going with me and going King fishing. Pros cons on any you have or have used would be appreciated.

Thanks!

There is Cannon, and then there is everything else. My Mag 10 s were used when I bought them in 1989, so I don't know how old they are, but they keep on going and going and going.

I like Cannon also. Never had any trouble with mine.

Take a serious look at Scotty's.  I had the fastest retrieve ratio when I bought them, not sure about now.  They are also very reliable (7 yrs old) and very easy to use.  I have the propac 1116.

Cannon mag 5HS or mag 10HS if your buying new. If your buying used look for mag 10 with auto stop. Average used price 250-275 each. My opinion

I have Cannons on my boat. They have been 100% reliable.

They are for sale, but only included with the boat they are on.

I've got Cannons on one boat, Big Jons on the other. Both have pros and cons. The Cannons are stupid fast but the Big Jons tilt up for easy docking and setting lines. Scottys do both. I would lean toward the Cannons, but both work well. Just make sure they all have auto stops.

    kING...

On my boat, I got one Cannon Mag 10 electric and one Big Jon electric....Its a toss up between the two for me....each have there pros and cons.  I like the Cannon and the switch...The switch on the Big Jon sucks because its easy to knock it into reverse.  The Big Jon has the two rod holder set up as well and you can pull right back on the boom to lift the ball out easily.  One thing you make sure you have is holders for your rigger balls....I made my own and you can check them out the next time you're up.

Either one of these riggers are great, but electric is the way to go!

I run the Dipsy program most of the time and also use the riggers with them most of the time. If you run 3 dipsy's per side the riggers get you up to 8 rods with a tangle free set up.

I ran it that way on my old boat with the manual riggers. I just plan on fishing O more often now and don't wanna be cranking those depths by hand.

Been looking at Cannons and Big jons kind of a toss up now been hunting for a good used deal anyone come across one let me know.
