like i said, not over til noon.

filled my 2nd tag this morning. its been really tuff, but just cant give up.called in 3 different birds wens. 2 where jakes and 1 bout 5 inch beard, but they where hot. had birds gobblen their heads off all morning today. had to move on them a few times but but about 10:00 finally the right spot at the right distance and here they came. POW at about 10 yards. 18# 10" beard 1" 8th spurs. from day light til POW they must have gobbled over 100 times. every time i made a sound, they sounded off. 4 to 5 gobbles in a row at times. i love it.

We got in the blind at 5:00 2day at about 5:45 the woods lite up.We had one right beside us gobbling.I think there was 6 or so in that group. What i found weird was at 6:30 we watched 2 hens pitch out but at 7:30 i looked out of the top of the blind to make a few calls an saw a bird fly out 20 yards to our right.I really never hunted this spot before this week.I had the same thing happen yesterday while trying to find somewhere to sat up for 2day i bumped 3 of the tree limbs it was 7:45.Anybody know why this may be?

i had 3 birds the other day in the tree about 35 yards from me. gobblen like they just learned how. looked at watch, close to 8. hit the gobble tube and yhey instantly flew down and landed right in front of me. they are staying in the trees till that hen walks under them ,then they are going with her. if they dont see hen, they stay in tree. been happening to me for 3 weeks. smart basterds

They stay in the tree's late, cause they know your there! Excess calling to birds on the limb is not normal, listen to the real hens, very little soft tree yelps, when you guy's learn to act like a real hen,you will kill turkey's,not bragging just facts, only time turkey's will not fly down at first light is because somethings not right, like you pounding on the call, just to hear them gobble, they see you,or there's a fox, yote or something there to eat them,a heavy fog will keep them up longer, they have to see a safe place to land.if yor 35 yards from a roosted turkey,I'd say your to close and he knows your there.I learned to call turkey over 30 years ago,no tape ,no TV, no help from my buddies, just got my****in the woods, morning after morning and listen to the real deal,I'd much rather listen to a real hen show, they taught me everything I know. I've called in quite a few boss hens, and you know what follow them,Mr LB. It was a very easy season, maybe 4 hour in the woods, called in 4 LB son and I killed early before 6:15,all birds had hens with them.
