Bob's Creek

I am going to be staying at Blue Knob state park and saw on the class 'A' wild trout listing that this creek has a mix of wild brown & native brookies. Is there decent fishing in the park area or am I going to have to walk and hit some of the smaller tribs that flow into it. This is not a problem for me I don't mind exploring. The problem it is going to be in August and that time of the year can be hard. I have caught plenty of native brookies out of the Cooks Forest area and am really hoping to get into my first wild brown. Any suggestions would be helpful. You can PM me if you do not want to reply to the post. I'm not looking for your honey hole, just asking for a little direction. I have never fished this part of the state.

    Jeb, you might have a hard time catching a wild brown out of Bobs creek. I live fairly close to it but don't fish it that often but never cought a wild brown. The creek is full of wild brookies though, hope you have a good trip anyway.

    There are plenty of wild brown if you fish above the stocked water up the forest road above Pavia.  Some of the stocked fish will be mixed in.  Bob's is tough fishing that time of the year as water is typically very low and clear.  Hope for higher than normal water.

    There's a stream here in Butler co. I was getting a few wild brown's out of. I'm gonna check it out here this week to see if they're still around haven't hit in about 2 yrs.

    I recommend zooming in on that area in Google Maps to see where you want to go. My grandfather took  me fishing there a bunch as a kid, but that was almost 20 years ago now.   We would park on the west side of blue knob state park, on monument road and walk a couple miles upstream.  I have caught 9" natives out of there before, so they are definately in there.
