Hicks run

Anybody fish here opening day? I love that stream, but it's too far away for a one day trip for me.

    I went there for one opening morning.  It was slow and pretty crowded.
     
    There is a primative campground near the confluence of the branches.w_w.

    If it has fins and gills, I'm there.

    I park at the gate and walk up the west branch, probably three miles. Past the old turkey pens. Up to an old beaver dam. Fish all the way down, never see another guy. Most of the fish I catch are like the one on your avatar, tho. Occasionally, you'll get a 8-9 inch brookie, which is a trophy for there, prettier than any pellethead that ever lived. I dont think I ever make it downstream to where the stocking begins.
