JAKES

One quick question i'm taking 3 newbies in the turkey woods this year with me.If so happens the jakes show up first should i give them the okay?

    i know its there first year and all but those jakes maybe 8 inchers next year.

    Absolutly nothing wrong with a newbie taking a jake. If they strut and gobble enjoy the show,it's not all about the lenght of the beard or spurs.It's about the hunt. For a 1st time hunter getting that 1st bird is priceless. I say have a go at them!!!

    I agree with RELAYER, whack 'em.

    chicken, if I recall correctly, you shot a jake last year when you snuck up on it in a field? If it's ok for you why wouldn't you give a newbie the green light? You seemed happy then, I'm sure a newbie would have the same feeling.

    Your right ready i did kill a jake last year.I don't know what i was thinking if i remember correctly many years ago i called my first turks in.They where both jakes i killed one what a great experince.From that point on i became addicted.
