More flies & patterns then you could ever tie.
Pick your poison (pattern) , it lists hook sizes.

Don't buy cheap hooks - especially for salmon & steelhead!

Companies make Salmon/Steelhead boss hooks that are heavier & tempered for those bigger fish.
I use Daiichi & Partridge. Tiemco & Musted have them too.
Keep a hone with you & check your points often. You don't want dull hooks & it only takes one hit on a rock to dull it up...

    Hooks, personal preference:

    egg patterns - daichii 1650 size 10, tmc 105 size 8, 10, tmc 2488H size12,14
    nymphs - tmc 5262, 2x strong, 2x long, size 8, 10, 12
    buggers - tmc 700, size 6, 8, 10
    streamers - tmc 300, size 6, 8
    tube flies - daichii 1650, tmc 105, size 6, 8

Mustad signature series also are good.  Tiemco, Daiichi, and Mustad signature are all quality steelhead hooks. Hope this helps.
