naw just kidding, it is a tough lake to fish if you aren't on top of them. i should know i grew up there. fished the river downstream from there to clearfield.

that's true, but the trick is finding them, some days it's like looking for a needle in a haystack. the area by the boat mooring area should be running fun with spawning perch, they haven't been there , don't know where they're at either.

anywhere upstream with in a quarter mile of the picnic area where you can find a tree in the water, usually holds crappies.  when its cold straight across from pavillions/picnic area is a high wall the channel runs along that side, the water there is the deepest on the dam, all kinds of trees on the bottom, my favorite spot for crappies. ice season has been the best time to catch the most for us, but that place holds a lot of big crappie...

It's great in the spring.  Easy to catch 6 or 7 different species of fish in a day of fishing.  Once summer comes it gets tough.

yeah, its great in the spring, once the hot weather arrives, its a must to fish fronts, dawn and dusk, hatches, and hike upstream, constantly moving, seems like everything is some place different each time. iv'e been fly fishing for smallies upstream before and caught nothing but trout, one specific time trying to find trout, ended up with a walleye and a channel cat on a dace imitation. you just never know. another time, a buddy and i where catching fall fish and chubs to use as bait on another lake, and he tied onto a musky that inhaled a blue gill he was reeling in, also, there are some large trout lurking around the faster water above the dam...
